Terms of Service

You must be at least 16 years old. If the law where you live sets a higher age for agreeing to online terms, that age applies instead.

• There is one question per day, and you get one guess for it. This is enforced on our servers, not just in your browser.
• The goal is to guess what otherplayers will answer, not the objectively correct answer. Points depend on how close your answer is to the crowd's most popular one.
• Days roll over at midnight UTC. Once a day has rolled over its board is final and moves to the archive.
• Streaks advance only when your guess lands in the crowd's top three, and reset when you miss or skip a day.
• Answers that mean the same thing are grouped together, and the most common spelling is shown as the label. Grouping is automatic and imperfect; we may adjust how it works.

Scores, streaks and boards are for entertainment. There is no prize, no monetary value, and no guarantee that any score or streak will be preserved — bugs, abuse cleanup or database maintenance may change them.

You can play anonymously. If you create an account, you agree to give a working email address, to keep your password to yourself, and to be responsible for what happens under your account. Tell us promptly if you think someone else has access.

• One account per person. Extra accounts used to submit more than one guess a day are a breach of these terms.
• Signing in with Google links that Google account to an account with the same verified email address, or creates one. You can add a password afterwards from your account page.
• You can revoke your other sessions at any time from your account page, and delete your account outright from the same page. Deletion is immediate and cannot be undone.

Answers are short pieces of public content. When you submit one, you give us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to store, display and share it as part of a daily board, an archived board or a share card. You keep whatever rights you had in it. Because boards are public and permanent, submissions can't be edited or individually withdrawn once a day has closed.

Don't submit:

• slurs, hate speech, harassment, threats or sexual content involving minors;
• personal information about yourself or anyone else;
• advertising, spam, links or anything you don't have the right to post.

Submissions pass through an automated profanity and slur filter before they are stored. A rejected answer does not use up your guess for the day, so you can try again. We may also remove content after the fact.

Please don't:

• use bots, scripts or automation to play, or submit answers other than through the game;
• try to get around the one-guess-per-day limit, whether with extra accounts, cleared cookies or anything else;
• scrape the site in bulk, or copy the archive wholesale to republish it elsewhere;
• coordinate with others to skew a board, or otherwise manipulate results;
• probe, overload or interfere with the service, its security, or other players' accounts;
• reverse engineer or copy the software behind the game.

If you break these rules we may remove content, reset a streak or score, suspend or delete your account, or block access — proportionate to what happened, and without notice where the abuse is ongoing.

The name, logo, design, wording and software of Popular Guess Only belong to Popular Guess Only. You may share screenshots and the game's own share cards freely. Anything beyond that — reusing our branding, or building a competing service from our content — needs our permission.

The game is free and provided as it is. We may change how it works, add or remove features, change the question pool, or stop offering it altogether. We don't promise uninterrupted availability, that a question will appear every single day, or that data will never be lost. Where we can give reasonable notice of a significant change, we will.

To the extent the law allows, the game is provided without warranties of any kind, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost data, or lost streaks and scores arising from your use of it.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law — including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for intent or gross negligence, or any statutory rights you have as a consumer. Those rights apply on top of these terms and are unaffected by them.

You can stop playing at any time, and delete your account yourself from your account page — or email hello@popularguessonly.com if you would rather we do it. We may suspend or end your access if you breach these terms or if we discontinue the game. Sections about our content, disclaimers and liability continue to apply afterwards.

We may update these terms — for example when the game gains a feature that needs new rules. The current version always lives on this page with its "last updated" date. If a change materially reduces your rights we will flag it in the game before it takes effect. Continuing to play after that means you accept the new version.

These terms are governed by the law of Romania. If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory law of the country where you live, and you may bring proceedings in your local courts.
